Still in the bloom

Elinor's Heart did Break

Marianne: Always resignation and acceptance. Always prudence and honour and duty. Elinor, where is your heart?
Elinor Dashwood: What do you know of my heart?

What do you know of anything but your own suffering.
For weeks, Marianne, I've had this pressing on me without being at liberty to speak of it to a single creature.
It was forced on me by the very person whose prior claims ruined all my hope.
I have endured her exultations again and again whilst knowing myself to be divided from Edward forever.
Believe me, Marianne, had I not been bound to silence I could have provided proof enough of a broken heart, even for you.

Metal against Wood

I look above
to see the beautiful starry sky
looking like a thick blue blanket
with glittering stars sprinkled
each star twinkling
and giggling with each other
one little star beams
at me in a very familiar way
that makes me repeat her sincere smile

I see the tree tops, shining with green lustre
dressed in bright yellowy flowers
each and every flower washes me over
with a scent of so heavenly a touch...

I tiptoe through a bright yellow carpet of tender buds
afraid to hurt, afraid to disturb
only to be stupefied
by the ear-splitting scream

I look above to see the metallic bird
and its trail of smoke
hiding the beaming friends of mine
Suddenly, a rain of yellow buds wrap me in horror

while the Earth sways along
to the clink of metal against wood...!

Meditations- Marcus Aurelius

When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly. They are like this because they can’t tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own — not of the same blood or birth, but of the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands, and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are obstructions.
